Éclosion/forclusion dans le roman pour adolescentes

Résumé

D. Di Cecco analyzes the representation of female adolescence in two novels by Michèle Marineau and in a trilogy by Marie-Francine Hébert. These novels illustrate the tension experienced by (young) women today when choosing between a traditional feminine role (the fairy tale) and an independent feminist model. The mother/daughter relationship proves to be central in the development of the female character and in the depiction of adolescence as either an "éclosion"--a free flowering of infinite possibilities--or a "forclusion"--the acceptance of predetermined, socially defined limits.
