L'image du père dans la littérature de jeunesse: le cas de la collection "Premier Roman" aux Éditions La Courte Échelle

Abstract
Monique Noël-Gaudreault's article is a semiotic analysis of the father-figure as presented in the novels published by "La Courte Echelle" for readers aged nine and up. Basing her study on results from recent research in sociology and psychology, she observes that the conclusions proposed by Claire
Le Brun in her article on the same topic published in CCL (issue 68) should be somewhat qualified. It seems that in novels for younger readers there is a toning down of the negative image of the father--in most cases, he is less absent, more active or understanding--and even a timid, but real, emergence of positive and promising features.
