Abstract
In this paper, Turcotte and Bachand examine book illustration as a complex, integrated discourse which functions much like the cinematic image, with zooms, close-ups, etc. In their survey they use as examples illustrated books by Philippe Beha, Daniel Sylvestre, Ginette Anfousse, Suzanne Duranceau and others.
